Ron’s Burning Bush

Anytime you think God doesn’t have your back…

Consider this…for over 40 years I had a recording studio in the same building in downtown Hendersonville, TN. I did hundreds of recording projects, maybe thousands. The list of people that worked there is long and storied. I also was the owner of an ocean-going sailboat that was a prize possession in my life. I worked hard for both and was very lucky to attain those 2 goals. But… I have also been getting older. It happens… and we rarely seem to see it coming. I was getting kinda tired and I knew that the time was drawing near for me to wind down those 2 pursuits as it was getting harder for me to maintain both. It was going to be somewhat difficult to make the move to a different part of the state and divest myself of these things. Then I get a message that the owner of the studio building I had rented for many years was retiring and therefore selling the building. Hmm. The new owner was a pretty different kind of guy that didn’t want anyone else in the building. So it was time to start the process of moving all of that equipment out and into my new digs in East Tennessee. It was NOT easy and I only had one dear friend to help do it, and I am forever indebted to Dave Taylor for being that man.

Just a short while later I get notified that the Marina where my boat had been for many years didn’t want sailboats there anymore.  That was a shock and I only had a couple months to find another place to move it to. No new slips were available at any price. So, I didn’t know what to do with it. I put it up for sale and thankfully found a new owner relatively quick. And HERE is where the Theme of this Post comes in…

No more than a month after I let my beloved boat go, a horrible tornado rips through Hendersonville, TN and absolutely destroys the marina. Had I still had the boat there it would have been at the bottom of the lake! And to further press the point, the building where the studio was located was significantly damaged as well… had I still been in there most, if not ALL, of my very expensive recording studio equipment would have been destroyed beyond repair.

Now… How could anyone not realize that God, in His Infinite Wisdom, had His Hand in this? I had no idea how to wind down these situations yet He made the way for me to be completely clear of the trouble that He knew was coming. All of my equipment is safely in my new recording room here in the mountains of East Tennessee… How’s THAT for the proverbial Burning Bush? The Burning Bush refers to the bush God led Moses to and spoke to him through… the bush was consumed with fire but it did not burn.  I hear all the time that some people need to see God’s work to believe in it… THERE is my Burning Bush… I am living proof that God does, indeed, work behind the scenes in my life… Your Honor, I rest my case…

Ronnie I am so glad you shared this. Makes me truly believe God does work in mysterious ways. Even when we can’t understand why at times, things don’t go as we would like it too, Gos has his reasons. I am learning that a lot lately and I find myself thanking him instead of being angry.
