The cold weather has finally hit here in East Tennessee… but it’s fine… I’ve been locked away in my studio. I don’t ever remember a time when I’ve had more music in the works. Last month I upgraded the computer to the latest and greatest Mac with the new M4 chip and it is as fast as anything I could have imagined. There are many updates to the software that I use on a daily basis as well. It’s all made me more hungry to record the things that I hear in my head. (not THOSE things….the GOOD things)…
Been playing piano in the church more often as well. They seem to enjoy it and I admit that I do, too. My prediction is that I will have a bunch of new stuff finished by the end of the year. It’s a full time job! I go to work every day but I do try to take the weekends off whenever possible. Maybe it’s because I had so few weekends off for most of my life. The entertainment business is a “Weekend Business” in a lot of ways. Thats just the way it’s designed.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun around here. I had 20 adults and 5 kids here to feed. It was a monumental task but we had a lot of fun. The yard looked like a used car lot!
I had an opportunity to make some music with my old friend Don Carr last week. He and I were on the road together something like 22 years out there traversing the world. I miss getting to see him but thanks to the Internet we can send files back and forth and come together on music whenever we want to. The world might seem like it’s moving too fast but that part of it works for me.

Donnie and I had some great experiences out on the road with the Oak Ridge Boys. I remember the time we played at the White House with just 2 acoustic guitars. In the East Room, no less. That was a surreal evening… here we are on 2 stools with our tuxedos on and President George H.W. Bush (41), Colin Powell, James Baker and many other big shots just maybe 6 feet away from us… that was President Bush’s last big dinner in the White House before he left office. I gotta say, that was a night I won’t forget. Donald E. (as I refer to him) is a great musician and friend for so many years and we do have so many stories to tell…..Sad that we can’t tell some of ‘em!!! You Know, Boys will be Boys…
As for all of these new projects I’m working on, I’m excited to have these guest musicians who are also dear friends taking part in creating some great music. Hopefully someone will enjoy this new music when it comes out….
Everybody just try to be kind to each other and don’t let the political thing send ya too far down the Foggy Bottom Rabbit Hole…

Very glad to hear and see you’re finally sharing with the world what has been tucked away in your heart for years and what was dying to come out. Your creativity is beyond what I could ever imagined.
Amazing what you were missing being on the road performing great music! How ever greater things are coming bring off the road! Can’t wait!
Cool beans! Love your music, and your stories! Keep em both coming!
