Rewind revisits iconic tracks across generations, reimagining them through a personal lens. This modern classic from “A Star Is Born” opens the Rewind album with heart, soul, and a touch of cinematic drama. I approached the production with the kind of emotional depth and polish you might expect from a David Foster arrangement, letting the vocal breathe while surrounding it with rich textures. Having Grammy-winning guitarist Tom Hemby lend his sound was a highlight — and knowing the song was co-written by his daughter, Natalie Hemby, made it even more meaningful. Multi-instrumentalist/producer Ron Fairchild (44-year keyboardist for the Oak Ridge Boys) has produced a soulful reimagining of Ambrosia’s “Holdin’ On To Yesterday,” featuring Ginger Eldridge’s raw, emotive lead & soaring vocal harmonies on BGVs, and a grooving track featuring Don Carr on guitar and Scotty Simpson on bass.
